49. Catherine BEVIERwas born on 23 Jan 1782 in New Paltz, Ulster Co., NY. She died on 19 Jan 1853 in Shiawassee Co., MI. A Catherine Bevier shows as head of household in NY 1800 census in Ulster County. Not shown in Neely's household in 1840 or 1850 MI census. Information from the Hugenot Historical Society, PO Box 339, New Paltz, NY 12561 (Finding Aid (Vol. V Bevier Collection)) shows birth date as 23 Jan 1782, bp 2-24. Remarried David Thomas after Luther's death. Broome County, NY

According to newspaper article he was scalded to death in engine room fire on "Steamer Atlantic" from NewYork to Norwich 21 Aug 1846. However he is listed in the 1850 census and the SAR application of William Luther Sawtelle says he died in 1882.
